WebJun 2, 2024 · Fish and Chips is a traditional pub type meal. Haddock (or cod) is coated in a quick batter with beer to add flavor and crunch. The chips are homemade using the "double fry" method. The fish turns out golden and crispy and the "chips" are perfect! Serve this with traditional malt vinegar– or serve with tartar or cocktail sauce (my favorite). WebPeel the potatoes and cut into chunky sized chips. Rinse and dry thoroughly. Fry chips for about 3 minutes until soft but NOT coloured. Drain and shake well and set to one side. Put some flour onto a plate. Dredge the fish fillets in the flour thoroughly - this is VERY important, it stops the batter sliding off when fried!
